Kiwi Quest Key Competencies
The Kiwi Quest is a fun course to complete. During the course, students actively develop the whole range of Key Competencies and are drawn to the importance of these, by recording them specifically as they progress through the quests. Evidence they produce and display in their own portfolio of evidence is a tried factor in raising self esteem and self motivation.
All the Quest workbooks follow a similar format, however the tasks differ.
The differentiation is in the form of how far outside of their comfort zone the student works.
In addition, students are encouraged to produce more detailed evidence as they progress into Kiwi Quests 7, 8 and 9.
The Kiwi Quest course leads into a set of Mainstream Courses available at High School. The first of these is the Shooting Star, followed by courses at Levels 1, 2 and 3 which lead to a recognised NZQA Certificate Qualification in Mainstream at level 2.
Work covered in The Kiwi Quest provides a sound basis for students to ensure they have the life long learning strategies to cope with High School demands and indeed, beyond school life.
