Exploring Techniques

Choose something you would like to draw.  Draw it using a type of pencil to create a pencil finish or draw, colour with pencil or paint.

What shall I Draw or Paint?

Find a partner.  Take it in turns to be the model and sit still for a portrait drawing or painting.

Pattern, Shape and

Colour

Make up a simple

repetitive pattern using different shapes. Use colour to enhance the repetition.

Health and Safety

Show you know how to wash

paint brushes.

Crafts

Exploring Different Crafts

Present a photographic record of the

processes and the end item of ONE of the new crafts you try out.

Your Chosen Craft

Choose ONE craft that interests you and explore its history

Craft Market

Plan with your class, to put on a

market stall at school, in your centre or other agreed place

Health and Safety

List safety rules for your chosen craft.

Discuss some of the consequences of not following these rules.

Experience paint using different body parts and create a piece of your own work.

Experiencing Culture

Listen to different cultural music.  

Respond to the rhythm.

Relaxation

Experience TWO of the following:

Hand massage, Foot Spa, Head Massage, Breathing to Music, Aromatherapy, Ball pool, Other

Show how and when to wash your hands properly

Indoor

Playing Games

Interview others to find out what games they know how to play.

Indoor Sports

Play a game of darts and learn how to keep the score.  You could  use a calculator if you wish.

Taking Time Out

Take part in one of the following: Step Class, Line Dance, Swim gym, Yoga, Self Defence, Other.

Watching TV.  How do you know which programmes

are suitable for your age group?

Keep Fit

How Fit Are You?

Try out some agreed exercises to measure your heart rate before and after exercise.

Using a Gym

With a supervisor, try out ONE piece of equipment.  Give yourself a target.

Ground Work

Be inventive and think of a new

exercise or fun thing to do to keep yourself fit.

What  are the sort of injuries that can

happen if you ignore the rules?

Music

What is Music?

Create a range of sounds using everyday objects.  Record three of your favourite sounds.

Music in the Making

Have fun with your voice.  Produce as many different sounds as you can.

Music in the Community

Visit a local radio station or go to a local concert.

Some instruments require electricity to work.  Show you can use these instruments safely.

Choose an activity that you would like to try, either on your own or as part of a group.  Say why you chose this  activity.

Go and watch a chosen professional from your chosen activity.

What does it mean to be a ‘good sport’?  Demonstrate that you can be a good sport.
