SPEC Shooting Star Requirements

Shooting Star Requirements

There are seven sections in this workbook.  All the sections have Tasks A, B, C & D, expect for number 7 which is a free option, making a choice of 25 tasks throughout the whole workbook.

To achieve the Shooting Star award, students must complete six tasks selected from four different sections of the workbook.

This level of Award is a starting point, a motivational tool with very practical based tasks.  This course is ideally placed in a Year 10 option line with regular sessions to ensure continuity and keep the motivation high.  However, schools can use this course to suit their own needs, as it is so flexible with no restriction on a time frame for completion.

There is an expectation that evidence will be generated to support the task, but, at this level, the evidence could be a photograph or a witness statement.

The Shooting Star Award is one of the components of the Certificate in Mainstream Studies Level 1.
