How to Join
Schools must be a SPEC member to offer programmes leading to New Zealand qualifications.
Membership is also required for other SPEC certificates.
The annual membership is payable by February 20th of each academic year and entitles a school to free PD sessions via zoom. There are three simple steps to becoming a SPEC Member.

- Fill out the membership form.
- Complete an initial PD session.
- Order resources and get started. The Teacher Guidelines is a mandatory resource.
Application for Membership to use SPEC NZQA approved programmes for NZ Qualifications
The school agrees to the terms and conditions of this membership.
The SPEC annual Membership must be current in order for schools to deliver the SPEC programmes for the NewZealand qualifications.

Annual Membership for 2026
Schools with a total roll of 300 + students $740 +gst Schools with a total roll of up to 300 students $620 +gst Discretionary fee for small schools or up to 5 students 450 +gst
School Membership includes:
Continued support throughout the year via free zoom sessions.
Two zoom moderation meetings in Term 3 and Term 4.
Updates and correspondence from the SPEC office every term.
Being able to offer the full range of programmes offered by SPEC.
